Ganderbal, Jun 10 (KNO): Two employees of Municipal Council (MC) Ganderbal were placed under suspension for allegedly misinforming higher authorities regarding the status of functioning of the solid waste management facilities. The employees have informed the higher authorities that the Solid Waste Management facility of Municipal Council Ganderbal is functioning smoothly. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the claims of the employees were found ‘false’ after a team from the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies visited the Solid Waste management site. During the visit, it was found that no activity was being carried out at the facility and the equipment was left un- attended by associated staff. Terming it as a grave negligence and dereliction of duties on the part of staff, two employees have been placed under suspension with pending enquiry into the matter. Both the suspended employees were attached with Municipal Council Kupwara. Pertinently, Director Urban Local bodies during a visit last week while talking to media assured that the Solid Waste Management facility is functional on the basis of information received from concerned officials.
